Trophy Northern Pike ~ Walleye ~ Rainbow Trout ~ Native Cutthroat Trout~ Grayling
How about a relaxing 15 minute trip to Stagecoach Reservoir, where the state record Northern Pike record still holds today @ 30lbs 11oz. and measuring 46.5 inches. Stagecoach is where SFA has honed in on the illusive Walleye. Within the last 10 years the illegally introduced fish flourished as it managed to rapidly reproduce and successfully establish permanent residency in the waters. Countless months spent studying their behavior finally paid off as our live wells consistently hold 25+inch Walleye. If the toothy fish with bad attitudes don’t do it for you, there is a Trout population that is one of the best in the state. I have yet to fish another body of water in Colorado that produces such consistently mature fish.
Steamboat Lake and Pearl Lake located just north of Steamboat are a Cutthroat fisherman’s dream. Where else would one rather be than on the waters of Steamboat Lake admiring the stunning colors of the native Colorado Cutthroat, or silently kayak fishing along the shallow shorelines, where it is common to get a lesson from the local bald eagles on how they chose to catch fish. If for some reason you feel like we forgot to do something, why don’t we jump over and visit the crystal clear waters of Pearl Lake. This small hidden gem is where one might be so overwhelmed by the scenery that an hour passes by and we are still standing and admiring the views from shore.
If the WOW factor is eventually contained, I would suggest we put together the fly rod and get up on our custom casting platform. The elevated position of the platform is where our sight and accuracy is increased, giving the angler a front row seat as an Arctic Grayling rises and eats the fly.

I would be willing to bet that the guided night fishing adventure would be the highlight of your vacation. This is the trip that will be talked about for years to come. We will meet at the main dock located in front of the marina store at Stagecoach at 5:45pm. A nice evening cruise around the lake while trolling for sunset Walleye will be one of the most peaceful experiences of the summer. Rarely is there a time that we are unable to locate the large resident herd of elk that feeds on the southern facing shores of the Reservoir. As the sun disappears to our west and darkness falls upon us, a couple of switches on board the 2016 Carrie Ann are flipped on, and its her time to shine! 150,000 lumens of light located underneath the vessel project different colors of light that attract thousands of bait fish to the boat. It is underneath the balls of bait that our late night lunkers come in to feed. Massive Walleye and trophy Trout are shown on our electronics as the angler is given multiple opportunities to hook a fish of a lifetime. 25-50 fish nights are common. At times the action becomes almost impossible to pull away from, therefore there is always the possibility to add more time to the trip. This changes the game in the world of fishing. No where else have I seen so many trophy fish landed in one outing….It is truly amazing!
